Information collection and use

This privacy policy covers two services from Pattern Resource Group, LLC: this website, patternplatform.app, and the App Creation Website, where a team creates and maintains its app. The apps themselves are covered by a separate privacy policy, linked from inside each app.

Amazon Web Services hosts both of these services and stores the data they keep.

If you use either service, you agree to the collection and use of information described here. We will not use or share your information except as this policy describes.

This website

This website is the public site for Pattern. Visitors do not create an account here.

When you write to us — through a contact form, a request to get started, a request to schedule a conversation, a story you choose to share, or a topic you suggest — we store what you send. That may include your name, email address, organization or ministry, country or region, and your message. We use it only to respond and to follow up on what you asked. We do not sell it, and we do not share it outside the Pattern team. We delete it when you ask us to.

The App Creation Website

The App Creation Website is where a team signs in to create and update an app. Amazon Web Services hosts it and stores its data, including the lessons and other material the team creates so the app can be built and kept up to date.

Types of data stored

The system stores a username, password, and email address for each registered user, so the account can be signed in. It also stores the IP address of a failed sign-in attempt. That is a security measure, used to notice attempts to break in. If the attempt was a genuine mistake, the IP address is removed after a successful sign-in or a password reset.

Login security

The system locks sign-in after three unsuccessful attempts, for a period of time. During that period the only way back in, including a password reset, is through a Pattern administrator. After six failed attempts the account stays locked until an administrator starts a password reset.

Your account information

If you have an account, you can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time. You cannot change your username. Administrators of the App Creation Website can also see and edit that information.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a site can store on your device. On many other sites they are used to track what you do, including across the internet. This website and the App Creation Website do not use advertising cookies or cookies that follow you from site to site.

This website sets a cookie only so a person who is signed in to manage the site can stay signed in. The App Creation Website keeps a sign-in session so a registered user stays signed in.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell personal information. We do not share browsing history, preferences, personal information, or unique identifiers with other companies for their own use. Amazon Web Services stores the data because it hosts these services.

How long we retain your data

We keep messages sent through this website for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of the conversation, and we delete them when you ask. For people who register on the App Creation Website, we keep the personal information in their profile until they delete it or ask us to erase it. This does not include information we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on the App Creation Website, or you have sent us a message through this website, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can also ask us to erase it. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard means of protecting the information we store. Connections to these sites use HTTPS. There is no way for us to guarantee that storage or transmission is completely secure.

Links to other sites

These sites may link to other sites. If you follow a link, that site has its own privacy policy. We have no control over its content or its practices.

Children’s privacy

These services are not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take the necessary actions.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Please review this page periodically. We will post changes on this page, and they are effective when they are posted.
